Recipe For Cooking Chocodiles

Chocodiles

Combine:
3 C. sifted flour
1 1/4 C. brown sugar, packed
1/2 C. butter or margarine
1/2 C. Crisco
1/3 C. crunchy peanut butter
1/4 tea. salt
Mix with low speed of mixer (or with pastry blender) until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add:
1 beaten egg yolk
1 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
Mix well and press mixture firmly into unprepared 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 in. jellyroll pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F) 25 to 30 min. until golden brown. Cool slightly. Spread with Chocolate Crunch. Let stand at room temperature until chocolate hardens. Cut into bars or squares.
Chocolate Crunch
Melt 1 C. (6 oz. pkg.) semisweet chocolate pieces in top of double boiler over boiling water. Stir in 1/2 C. crunchy peanut butter and 1 1/2 C. corn soya cereal.
Note from me: I have no idea what cereal she is referring to but I expect you could substitute rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies).
Makes approximately 3 to 4 dozen cookies.
