Apple Blondies

1/2 C. butter
1/2 C. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
3/4 C. flour
1/4 tea. each cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger
1 lrg. firm apple, cored and finely chopped
1/4 C. chopped nuts
1 C. semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract or flavoring. Sift flour and spices. Add to creamed mixture. Fold in apple, nuts and chocolate chips. Pour into prepared 9-in. square pan. Bake for 30 min. until done.
