Recipe For Cooking Apple Fudge Brownies

Toaster Oven Cookies :: Blondies and Brownies

Apple Fudge Brownies

1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate
1/2 tea. baking powder
1/4 tea. salt
1/4 tea. baking soda
1/2 C. nuts, chopped
Powderedsugar
1 C. flour
1/2 C. vegetable shortening
1 C. sugar
2 eggs
2/3 C. applesauce
1 tea. vanilla extract

Melt chocolate and vegetable shortening in lrg. saucepan. Add sugar, eggs, applesauce and vanilla extract. Mix well. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add to first mixture. Mix and stir in nuts. Spread mixture in a greased 12 x 9-in. baking pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 35 to 40 min. When cooled, sprinkle top with powderedsugar, if desired.
