Recipe For Cooking Baton Rouge Blondies

Baton Rouge Blondies

1 C. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
1 tea. baking powder
1/4 tea. salt
3/4 C. packed light brown sugar
1/3 C. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
1 lrg. egg
1 C. (6 oz.) Nestlé Toll House Premier White Morsels
1/2 C. coarsely chopped macadamia nuts
1/2 C. toasted coconut

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-in. square baking pan.

Combine flour, baking powder and salt in med. bowl. Beat sugar, butter and vanilla extract or flavoring in lrg. mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg.

Gradually beat in flour mixture.

Stir in morsels, nuts and coconut.

Press into prepared baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 min. or until golden brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

Makes approximately 16 bars.
