Recipe For Cooking Buttermilk Brownies

Toaster Oven Cookies :: Blondies and Brownies


Buttermilk Brownies

2 C. sugar
2 C. flour
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 C. cold water
1/2 C. margarine
1/2 C. canola oil
1/2 C. buttermilk
1 tea. baking soda
2 eggs

Sift sugar, flour and cocoa together.

In saucepan, bring water, margarine and oil to boil. Pour over dry ingredients in lrg. bowl and beat until creamy. Add buttermilk, baking soda and beaten eggs. Beat thoroughly. Bake at 400 degrees F for 18 min. Frost while warm.

Frosting
1/3 C. margarine
1/4 C. cocoa
1/3 C. buttermilk
1/2 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
Confectioners’ sugar, as needed

Bring margarine, cocoa and buttermilk to boil. Add vanilla extract or flavoring and powderedsugar until thick. Spread on warm brownies.
