Recipe For Cooking Fudgy Pecan Brownies

Fudgy Pecan Brownies1/2 C. butter or margarine, melted 1 C. sugar 1 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring 2 eggs 1/2 C. flour 1/3 C. cocoa 1/4 tea. baking powder 1/4 tea. salt 1/2 C. pecan pieces Blend butter, sugar and vanilla extract or flavoring in lrg. bowl. Add eggs; beat well with spoon. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually blend into egg mixture. Stir in pecans. Spread in lightly prepared 8-in. square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 25 min. or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Frosting 1 1/3 C. powderedsugar 3 Tbsp. butter or butter substitute 2 Tbsp. cocoa 2 Tbsp. milk 1/4 tea. vanilla extract 1/4 C. pecan pieces Pecan halves (for garnish) Place powderedsugar in sm. mixer bowl. Melt butter or margarine in sm. saucepan; stir in cocoa, blending until smooth. Add milk; stir constantly over low heat until mixture is slightly thickened. Pour hot mixture over powderedsugar; beat until smooth. Stir in 1/4 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring and pecan pieces. Spread warm frosting over warm brownies. Garnish with pecans halves. Cool completely. Makes 16.
