1/3 C. sugar
1/3 C. butter
2 tea. salt
1 tea. maple flavoring
2/3 C. scalded milk
1/2 C. sugar
1/4 C. brown sugar
1 tea. maple flavoring
1 tea. cinnamon
1 C. nuts
2 pkg. yeast
4 1/2 to 5 C. sifted flour
2 unbeaten eggs

Soften the 2 pkg. of yeast in 1/2 C. warm water.

Combine in lrg. mixing bowl the first 5 ingredients in order: sugar, butter, salt, maple flavoring and scalded milk. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in the unbeaten eggs and softened yeast. Add the flour gradually to form stiff dough. Knead on floured surface until smooth. Place in prepared bowl and cover and let set till doubled in size...about 1 1/2 hr..

Combine the last five ingredients in a separate bowl: sugar, brown sugar, maple flavoring, cinnamon and nuts...to make a sugar mixture.

Divide the dough into 3 equal balls. On lightly floured surface, roll out one ball to 4 to 16 in. circle. Fit into bottom of prepared pizza pan of same size. Brush dough with 2 tsp melted butter and sprinkle with 1/3 C. of the sugar mixture on top.

Use a glass to make a 2-in. circle in center of dough. Do not cut through dough. Cut from outside just to circle forming 16 pie-shaped wedges. Twist each of the 3 layers wedge 4 times. Let rise in warm place until light and doubled in size, 40-50 min.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 min. until golden brown. Drizzle with 1 1/2 C. powderedsugar, 1 tea. maple flavoring and 2-3 Tbsp. milk, combined. Decorate with maraschino cherries.
