Buttery Toffee Cookies

Chocolate-coated toffee Makes approximately these cookies extra good.

1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 tea. vanilla extract or flavoring
1 1/4 C. flour
1/2 tea. baking soda
1/4 tea. salt
4 (1.4 oz.) chocolate-covered toffee bars, chopped sm.*

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine sugar, butter, egg and vanilla extract or flavoring in lrg. mixer bowl. Beat at med. speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy (3 to 4 min.). Add flour, baking soda and salt; reduce speed to low. Beat, scraping bowl often, until well mixed (1 to 2 min.). Stir in chopped toffee by hand.

Drop dough by rounded tea.ful onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 min. or until lightly browned. Cool 1 min.; remove from cookie sheets.

*Substitute 1 (6-oz.) pkg. (1 C.) milk chocolate English toffee bits.

Makes approximately: 3 dozen cookies
