Amaretto Fruit Bread

1 3/4 C. flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tea. salt
2/3 C. sugar
1 egg
1/4 C. canola oil
1 C. milk
3 Tbsp. amaretto liqueur
1 tea. almond extract or flavoring
1/2 C. coarsely chopped candied cherries
1/2 C. chopped candied pineapple
1/2 C. chopped mixed peel
1/2 C. slivered almonds

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9 x 5 x 3­in. bread pan.

Mix first four ingredients in lrg. bowl. Beat liquid ingredients together and pour in center of flour mixture. Add remaining ingredients and stir until moist. Bake for 1 to 1 1/4 hr. or until a knife inserted in center of bread comes out clean.
